The Flow Kids Project
Exploring English Through Creativity & Yoga-Mindfulness
Puppets becoming their storytellers.
In Colombia, I developed and facilitated an innovative children’s programme that integrated English language learning, creativity, yoga, and mindfulness to create real-world learning opportunities. Beyond the regular weekly sessions, I initiated additional community projects.
With the support of the Cultural Centre Director, who provided space for the initiative, I recruited a local assistant and designed interdisciplinary activities, including bilingual English-Spanish podcasts, video projects for older children, and dance classes with English elements for younger children.
I also designed outdoor mindful walks and environmental activities, and arranged a visit to a local coffee plantation where children were to practise English as tour guides; initiatives that were ready to begin but could not be fully realised before my departure.
ESOL & Drama with Afrocats
Voices: a tree of self-expression
As part of Afrocats’ Natives of the World programme at Manchester Museum, this project brings together immigrant and refugee women through drama and creative English learning.
Designed and facilitated in collaboration with the Afrocats team, it integrates language, wellbeing, and artistic expression to empower participants in exploring English while honouring the cultural and human resources they already carry.
In this shared space, guided by collective values of inclusion, creativity, and community, each session becomes a meeting place of voices and stories: a living tapestry of expression, confidence, and connection.
